WHERE SMALL MIRACLES HAPPEN EVERY DAY...

WELCOME TO OUR WEB-SITE. WE HOPE IT GIVES YOU AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT RAINBOW RIDERS IS ALL ABOUT, AND ANSWERS ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TALK WITH SOMEONE ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT US AT 309-734-4849.

Rainbow Riders is a not-for-profit, therapeutic horseback riding program for children with special needs.  We are located in a peaceful setting on Bowman Meadow Farm, just outside the city limits of Monmouth,  Illinois. Founded in 2005 by Karen and Joseph Angotti, our mission is simple: To provide safe, professional and affordable therapeutic horseback riding opportunities, that contribute positively to the physical, cognitive, emotional and social well being of children with special needs.

We use equine assisted therapy to achieve educational and therapeutic goals as well as building self esteem for children with learning disabilities and physical and psychological impairments. The emphasis is to incorporate cognitive, behavioral, psychological and physical goals into an individualized program while teaching adaptive riding. Riding instructors design and implement lesson plans in consultation with special educators, parents and health professionals while also providing a fun and exciting recreational experience. The horse's soothing rhythm, warmth, disposition and three-dimensional movement pattern provides healthy exercise while improving the riders strength, circulation, muscle tone and sensory integration. All of these factors provide a safe and caring haven where riders feel a sense of empowerment and accomplishment.

Our programs are varied and run from May through October. We invite you to browse through our web site to find out more about the Rainbow Riders family and what an amazing, productive and powerful experience therapeutic horseback riding can be!
